Just before Moses died, God told him to take a walk up Mount Nebo where He would show Moses the Promised Land. God wanted Moses to see all the wonder he was going to miss out on, on account of his being dead.  

 

So Moses walked to the top of the Mountain and witnessed the splendor of the Promised Land. It was really awe-inspiring and after 40 years of leading the people through the wilderness, Moses was pretty sad to think that he'd never actually get to live there. Mind you, he knew it wasn't going to be very pleasant for his people either. You see, God had already told Moses that they were going to break some rules and He was going to get angry and bring lots of terrible disasters upon them.

Anyway, after gazing on the Promised Land for a while, Moses braced himself because he knew his life was about to come to an end.
