The Sad Case of Mary Magdalene's Amnesia

There were two angels there dressed in white. "Why are you crying?" they asked her.

"Because someone has taken the body of my Lord," she said sniffing. "I don't know where they put it."

Just then Jesus appeared and asked Mary who she was looking for.

But Mary didn't recognize Jesus and thought Jesus was the gardener. "If it was you who took the body, can you please tell me where you put it?" she asked.

Then Jesus called her by name and she recognized him. She went to touch him but Jesus recoiled and pulled himself away quickly.

"You can't touch me," Jesus said. "I haven't gone up to heaven yet." Mary wondered what the problem was. After all, she'd already clasped his feet when she met him before. But she did as Jesus said anyway.

"Now go to the disciples," Jesus told her. "Tell them that I'm alive and that I'm going to be returning to my father."

So Mary left filled with joy to tell the disciples that Jesus had risen from the dead. Hopefully she wouldn't suffer another bout of confusion and amnesia this time around.
