And so God, in His great mercy, struck many, many men with a horrifying plague and they became violently ill.

There was panic throughout the land as the men struggled against God's scourge. They tried to assure their loved ones that everything would be alright but they began dying by the thousands. They pleaded with God not to leave so many wives and children to survive alone, but God would not stop killing them. In fact, He didn't stop until He'd killed a staggering 70,000 men.
