When Jacob woke in the morning and looked across at his lovely new wife he got a terrible shock. Behold, it was Leah!

He was horrified to find that Laban had tricked him by switching daughters. “That’s why he wanted the candles blown out,” Jacob thought to himself. He went to confront his uncle, but Laban told him that it was customary to marry the eldest daughter first and that he would get to sleep with Rachel in a week as long as he agreed to work for another seven years. Jacob agreed. All in all it worked out ok because Jacob got to have sex both of them. In fact, eventually he got to have sex with a whole parade of women owing to how competitive the sisters were. Let me explain.

It all started with Leah feeling a little unloved because Jacob paid more attention to Rachel. So God gave Leah four children, and left Rachel barren. Now Rachel was upset, so she gave Jacob her servant, Billah, to have sex with for a while and Billah had two children. Leah could see that her sister wasn’t giving up without a fight so she gave Jacob her own servant, Zilpah, to have sex with for a while and she had two children by Jacob. The race was really heating up. Jacob, of course, wasn't protesting one little bit.
