Hundreds of illustrated story books have been published that tell wonderful tales from the Bible. In every one of these books, the stories are carefully chosen to reflect an image of the Hebrew god that the authors want you to see. The stories that don't fit this image are conveniently left out.
Because of this, too many great Bible stories have never been illustrated. That's a shame because they're often just as interesting and important as the others. However, these lesser known stories show a side of Yahweh that is not well known and may be discomforting to the faithful.
Bible teachers who are aware of these stories, tend not to make them the subject of Sunday sermons. It's easier to ignore them than have to explain them. But, if everything in the Bible is correct, then it's correct when it says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16).
The original stories, and perhaps the most important, are found in the book, Illustrated Stories from the Bible (that they won't tell you in Sunday School) by Paul Farrell. The titles of these amazing stories are given in the left hand column. But there are more great stories that needed to be brought to life and better known. They are available free on this website. The free stories are listed in the column on the right. To get a flavor for how important the stories in the book are, though, one example from the book is presented free. It's called The Evils of Arithmetic.
Most of these Bible stories have never been illustrated before. They are stories they don't want you to know about, stories they won't be telling you in Sunday School any time soon.
