On Fire for the Lord
On the eighth day after the ordination ceremony, Aaron and his sons began their official duty as God's high priests. Moses told them to take a bull, a ram, and a goat for burnt offerings to the Lord. He also told them to take a one year old calf for a sin offering and a one year old lamb for a burnt offering, along with another bull and another ram for a peace offering. There was going to be quite a lot of blood.
First Aaron slaughtered the calf for the sin offering. Then, he dipped his finger in the blood and smeared some on the alter. After that, he poured the rest of the blood at the base of the alter. And, finally, he made a burnt offering.
