The fire rained on the outskirts of the camp, scalding people and setting their tents on fire. A great panic spread throughout as the fire raged and tents burned furiously. The air was pierced with high-pitched screaming as people ran around engulfed in flames. Their clothes were dry and they burned quickly.

 

It was absolute chaos as God's fiery wrath blazed among the people. Mothers were trying frantically to put out the flames that were burning up their little children. Husbands who were too late to save their wives looked on in abject horror as the love of their life was gradually turned into a blackened corps. There was a horrible cacophony of shrieking, crying.

The people implored Moses to help them. He looked to the sky and pleaded with God to show some mercy. It seemed to work. A little while later, the fire from the Lord started to subside.
