After tossing and turning for a while, Jacob got up and sent his wives, mistresses, sons, and all his possessions across the river of Jabbok so he could be alone. Once he could see that they were safely across the river, he lay down to try to sleep. But at that moment he felt a presence beside him.

He looked up to see a man standing beside him. The man didn't seem too happy and Jacob knew he was in for a fight.
